Volunteer
The volunteer experience at Community Healthcare Center is personalized to suit the personalities, time demands and needs of volunteers. Some people come to us seeking to make a difference in their community, others want to meet people and develop friendships, while others come seeking to enhance skills and gain experience in the healthcare industry. We understand that there is no “one size fits all” to volunteerism and work with volunteers to create an enjoyable, rewarding and productive experience.
No medical experience is required and volunteers come from all walks of life, including retirees, teachers, college students and homemakers to name a few. Since the program’s inception in January, 2007, dozens of volunteers have contributed tens of thousands of dollars of volunteer time. Whether it’s assembling new patient education packets in the client services department or ensuring the accuracy of patient information in the lab, Center volunteers get it done – and have fun doing it.
Community Healthcare Center honors its volunteers with an invitation to its exclusive Annual Meeting. The Volunteer of the Year is announced at the meeting and the contributions of all volunteers are celebrated.
Volunteer Expectations
Community Healthcare Center prides itself on developing a personalized volunteer experience to maximize the benefit to those donating their time. We strive to always be prepared for volunteers, create a relaxed environment, and provide the training necessary to accomplish all tasks.
As committed as we are to providing a positive experience, the Center expects the same commitment from volunteers. Volunteers perform valuable work which helps free up our staff to do what they do best – focus on patient care. Volunteers are expected to be dependable and appear for scheduled work shifts. Volunteers work no more than one, four hour shift per week.
