In
response to the growing need for area dental care, Community
Healthcare Center teamed up with Midwest Dental, North Texas
Area United Way, Thirteenth District Dental Society, Wichita
County, generous individuals and local foundations to provide
mobile dental care.
The
dental van visits area elementary and junior high schools when
in session and is a "win-win" for participating families.
Parents do not have to leave work to take their child to a
dentist and the child doesn't miss a day of instruction. The van
visits senior care facilities during the winter, spring and
summer breaks. Uninsured patients seen on the
van, as with those served at the Center, benefit from a sliding
fee scale taking into account family size and household income.
Medicaid, CHIPs and private dental insurance are gladly
accepted.
Containing two, scale sized operatories, the dental van is
state-of-the-art and staffed by a dentist, hygienist and
assistant. The following services are offered on the van:
Restorative Dentistry:
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Root canals
- Stainless Steel Crowns
Hygiene:
- Sealants
- Oral hygiene (Cleanings)
- Oral Health Education
